Why Powders are the next big thing in personal care
Share
Powders are gaining popularity in the personal care field for several reasons, making them the next big thing in the beauty industry. NAPRIM Naturals founder Stefanie Lendzian has spent more than 20 years as a cosmetologist and the idea for NAPRIM Naturals was born from countless conversations with guests who agreed that every hair care product should be safe and sustainable. During the same time, her young daughter was suffering from eczema and dermatitis and after trying every cream, ointment and lotion on the market, Lendzian decided to take matters into her own hands. In 2018, Lendzian created her first product — NAPRIM Naturals Dusting Powder. One year later, she introduced the Nourishing Powder to her collection.
Powders don’t attract bacteria
Ointments and creams are very moist environments and bacteria needs moisture in order to breed and grow. If your cream comes in a jar, you dip your fingers into it before spreading on your skin. This can inoculate the jar itself with bacteria from your fingers.
Powders are dry and don’t make a great place for bacteria to gather and breed. Powders are usually sprinkled or dusted using a brush, instead of spread on, which keeps fingers out of the jar.
Powders can hydrate just as well as creams
Powders can have moisturizing ingredients in them such as Omega Fatty Acids, marine minerals, and more. These ingredients not only moisturize, but also feed the skin nutrients to help give your skin the best possible health.
Powders are recommended during hot and dry times as well, because they don’t clog your pores or make you feel suffocated or sticky. In hot weather, powders can leave you feeling fresh, and won’t cause your clothing or hair to stick to you uncomfortably.
Powders are convenient for traveling
Powders can easily be stored and are travel friendly. NAPRIM’s products are packed in lightweight containers and eliminate concerns of leaks and spills that can damage and stain clothing.
Powders are versatile
Our powders can serve multiple purposes. For example, our Nourishing Powder can also function as a setting powder or mattifying powder. Our Dusting Powder can also double as a deodorant and help prevent chafing. This versatility makes powders a cost-effective option as they can replace the need for multiple individual products.
Powders are sustainable
Powders offer a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional personal care products. Our powders require less water in their production compared to liquid formulations and have a lower carbon footprint due to reduced transportation weight and volume.
Rising Demand for Clean Beauty
There is a growing demand for clean, natural, and organic beauty products. Powders allow formulators to create clean beauty products without the need for preservatives, emulsifiers, or other additives commonly found in liquid or cream formulations. This aligns with the preferences of consumers who prioritize ingredients that are safe, sustainable, and environmentally friendly
